The essence of Elipse
Hello, I'm Cristina — a teacher specialising in special education, an educational psychologist, and the person behind Elipse Educativa.
For more than fifteen years I've had the privilege of working alongside children, families and teachers.
Every stage taught me something different
Over those years I've worked in very different educational settings. No two of them taught me the same thing.

- Always look at what a child can do before what they can't.
- Mainstream schools
- How much it matters to build a school with room for everyone.
- Rural grouped school
- Creativity and adaptation are essential when one classroom holds several levels.
- Secondary school
- Educational needs change with age, but they never disappear.
- Early intervention team today
- Supporting children from their earliest years — and their families with them.
If all those years have taught me one thing, it's that no two children are alike: each learns differently, cares about different things, needs different amounts of time, and deserves resources that respect the way they learn.
That conviction is where Elipse Educativa began.
How Elipse Educativa began
It wasn't born in front of a computer. It was born in the classroom.
For years I made materials because my own pupils needed them. I was after activities that explained a concept better, adaptations that made learning easier, visual supports that helped children understand, or small resources that gave a child back the wish to learn.
Often those materials simply didn't exist, so I decided to make them. Without noticing, they began to fill folders, binders and drawers.
Later I started sharing them with other teachers under the name Recursos Alatea. What began as a personal need ended up reaching schools, families and professionals looking for exactly what I was: materials that are useful, clear, and thought out from the reality of the classroom.
In time I understood that the project had stopped being a collection of resources. It had grown. It had matured. And it needed a name that stood not only for what it made, but for how I understand education.
That's how Elipse Educativa was born.
Why Elipse?
In geometry we're taught that the circle stands for perfection. Everything looks symmetrical. Everything seems to fit.
But teaching has shown me something very different.
People aren't perfect circles. Every child has a different story. A different pace. Strengths that make them unique. Difficulties that need to be understood. Interests that spark their curiosity.
And a way of learning that is their own.
An ellipse is also a geometric figure. It has its own shape. Its own balance. Its own beauty. That's why it felt like a far better picture of the education I believe in.
It isn't an imperfect circle. It's simply a different one.
Because not every child has to walk the same path. Each one needs to find their own.
Education isn't about making everyone walk the same path. It's about helping each child find their own.
How I understand education
I believe in an education that walks alongside.
That listens before it steps in.
That observes before it judges.
That knows learning isn't about getting everything right, but about feeling able to keep going.
I believe in resources that come from real classroom experience rather than from trends. In materials where every activity has a purpose behind it. In ideas that spark curiosity and make learning exciting again.
A good resource isn't the longest one, or the flashiest.
- For the child It's the one that makes something click that was hard before.
- For the family It's the one that reassures a parent who doesn't know how to help at home.
- For the teacher It's the one that helps someone trying to reach every pupil in the room.
Because teaching is never a path you walk alone. It's always built between those who learn, those who support them, and those who teach.

I believe in carrying on learning, because education changes, moves on, and keeps inviting us to learn with it.

But my greatest learning appears on no certificate.
It has been the privilege of spending these years with hundreds of children, their families, and so many colleagues who have taught me as much as any qualification.
Elipse Educativa today
Elipse Educativa is now far more than a place to find educational resources. It's a project that joins classroom experience to the pleasure of still making materials for everyone involved in learning.
Books, planners, resources and new projects start here. But before any of them becomes a printed page, they all begin the same way: with a real need.
Every idea has to pass the same three questions.
- 01 Will it genuinely help a child learn better?
- 02 Will it be useful to families who want to support that learning at home?
- 03 Will it make life easier for teachers looking for the best way to teach?
If the answer is yes, then the idea is worth turning into a resource.
Because at Elipse Educativa we don't design materials to fill pages. We design tools that come from experience, observation and listening.
Because a good resource doesn't only teach. It keeps you company.
